Both latest versions of Android and iOS support passkeys plus support on Chrome/Brave/Edge/Safari. While not as secure or convenient as a security key for initially logging in there is no need for a new device in many cases.

If it's a closed laptop sometimes when they get very warm the touch pad starts getting activated. At least that is what the problem was for me a few years ago with Intel MBPs. There is an option to disable the track pad when using an e

If you're doing lots of writes it will not wear out the same way an SSD would. Also it's very fast, but these days not as fast as the best NVMe SSDs you can buy now.

If you read through the 10 year old presentation linked[0] you'll see they have ways to break just running over Tor. You really need to be running Tor on the machine, possibly via a VPN (like Mullvad or VPS+Wireguard/SSH), and eit

For Google in particular they can see the 2023 just fine[0], but I think it's needless complexity when you could just do it server side. Maybe it's nice for a rarely updated static site though. [0]: https://searchengine

Agreed. 1080 is probably a good proportion, but I'd prefer 4k resolution at 200% than native 1080.

I mean how many people said tech would be in a bubble until ZIRP was gone and then they'd need to "come back to reality" or similar? And the minor freakout in 2014-2015 when the Fed tried to raise rates? IIRC it was primarily
