Yeah, using erewhon to gauge price of anything isn't going to yield anything good. Well, it will reveal how much people willing to overpay to avoid seeing "poor" people.

I think it's because C devs often think that they never make a mistake, so they see rust bringing on value. I had an argument about rust with a freebsd developer that had the same "I never make a mistake" attitude. I've

No, for a succesful Mars mission certain scientific progress has to be made. Unlike in economy, in science such things trickle down to us mortals.

Probably because for it to be really opensource it has to have a proper documentation and other resources. if someone just does a `git push` and changes license it won't be much help to anyone until there is a proper documentation.

Memory leaks aren't unsafe generally, unless they are triggered in a way that could lead to DoS attack. That's not memory safety that rust advertises.

Netflix UI in my opinion has two issues: - "Continue Watching" is always in a different place - Autoplaying trailers Everything else is alright. Every other service besides Apple TV has much worse issues with UI and UX.

IIRC any package that uses Java isn't reproducible because system time and fixing it to epoch permamently causes issues in some application builds. * there're maven and gradle plugins to make builds reproducible.

You can also hookup a little thingy that takes sata power on one side and 24 pin on the other. As soon as there is power on sata side, relay switches and second PSU turns on.

I have work on such companies unless you count TypeScript and JavaScript as two languages. Comment you're replying to is about some kernel developers not wanting to learn/write/use rust.

Is the goal to make a good kernel or to keep C developers happy? I don't see rust taking over C in kernel ever. re: broken rust builds You should think very very hard on when it can break and how it effects C side of things.
