I think in todays world, when everything is a subscription, payment for a browser doesn't look so far-fetched.

At very least, it should be two partitions: previous firmware and current firmware.

Yes, they do it, but usually in devices where it's basically part of DRM. I don't think engineers put that much though in security of soundbars.

No matter how well documented system us, how helpful error message is or how good self diagnostics are - some humans will act dumb. Access to knowledge (I assume by embedded you mean better access) is clearly not enough.

I don't think we know how much google pays for it right now. That 20B figure is from 2022. Also, that payment is mainly for iOS's Safari. Google would still pay Apple for search engine placement on iOS even if Apple stopped updati

Ads that apple serves (outside of marketing pages on apple.com) are ads that displayed on ad supported ads. uBO won't help you there. Luckily, every Apple device comes with an AdBlock for those ads - airplane mode.

I don't think those two can be compared at all. Safari didn't have proper plugin support at all, doesn't matter ad-blocking or not. Rich plugin ecosystem was one of the Chrome's selling point.

My favorite car to drive. Exceptional driving experience and cheap. Trunk is alright for groceries (for one or two people).

The only way any phone gets more than 1 day of battery is when you don't use it. In which case, why you care that if it's 120 or 60hz. I'm back to iPhone now tho, so I get a full-day-ish with pro-motion under a normal usage.

120Hz on Android IMO is: try once, say "damn that's smooth" and then disable to save battery life. I only ever used Pixels as android phones, so my experience is limited to that.

I've specifically said leaking memory? Then again, destructor that didn't run would be an application level error not "safety in rust" error.

What's unsafe about implicitly "leaking" memory?

Since it was a debian, i have to ask - was a driver 10 years old already when you used it? I also had 1080 Ti (and a regular 1080), worked flawlessly in: Windows 10, FreeBSD, NixOS. I don't recall versions I ran tho.

Actually, all of it applies to rust. The only stable ABI in Rust is C-ABI and IMO at that point it stops being rust. Even dynamically loading rustlib in rust application is unsafe and only expected to work when both compiled with the same v
