Using blockchain ontop of IPFS is to provide incentives. I don't know what is "questionable" about Filecoin, it seems fine to me. I used IPFS before blockchain but mostly just to play around with, never for any serious projec

I think you are mistaken in 2 aspects. Blockchain != web3. Blockchain + cryptocurrencies make up a large part of web3 because they provide an incentive mechanism to be decentralized. Web3 is about decentralization, other solutions that foll

I don't think so. They are creating the metaphor that banks == blockchain implementation + stakeholders, money == blockchain tokens. Currently most of the cryptocurrencies you see with ICOs are just erc20 tokens ontop of ETH (therefore

Well the governments job is to create laws to make it easier for humans to live together. Even if Gattaca style gene selection is available, laws can be put into place to prevent discrimination. I.e. it is 100% illegal to do genetic testing

I was thinking the same thing when I saw this article. Just need 1 russian to pin it to a local russian based IPFS node and they are good. Get others to pin it from there as needed.

I would rather have a government that tries and builds solutions that are not the most optimal rather than giving up and not doing anything. Solutions do not have to be the best all the time, just better than what exists. Constant iterative

I don't think the poster said anything about goodness. Goodness is subjective, originality implies creativity. I personally also want to see more original works in books, movies, tv, and games. After getting into any medium for awhile
