I think this is under-appreciated. The technology of food has progressed immensely in the last decades! Even recipes from the 90s don't hold up as well, because home cooks have access to more knowledge, techniques, tools, ingredients,

The last time I was in a McD (this year), it smelled faintly of feces, and yep it was a mess. It really did put me off going to any other McDonald's. I know that's one experience but prior ones had been trending in that direction.

1.8GJ is pretty much exactly 500kWh? That's not awful in terms of energy, although intuitively I suspect that the real-world energy used would be at least an order of magnitude higher than the gravitational potential energy gain.

Mentioning Rupi Kaur here is kind of like holding up the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an example of great cinema. Plagiarism issues notwithstanding.

The Honda I drove as a teen could be significantly disassembled with a 10mm and a couple screwdrivers. I rear ended someone with a tow hitch, busted the rad an AC condenser and the shop wanted $300 to fix it (tells you how old I am). I repl

So does fiberglass. I would dislike working with the aforementioned basalt fiber, I suspect it's like fiberglass or carbon fibers in that you'll end up itchy later, unless you do a really good job with your PPE e.g. taping gloves

Found this amazing redlining map. I think I've highlighted Berwyn. I don't have knowledge to contextualize the map but I'm curious if any patterns from the HOLC map are strongly present in your area now. https://ds

Looking for context here: how do Swedes view their government? Do they feel represented by, it, trust their governments etc.? My perception as a USian in a coastal, progressive state, is that trust in government is quite low. Municipal and

Thanks for the encouragement. I wrote my comment while a bit hungover from a dinner party :) In general I'm OK with how I interact with people. I think we're all a bit impedance mismatched. The author's experience of having

I wish I had the drive to do as much work as the author has. Instead I will live more or less where I am now, stably in social mediocrity, perpetually somewhat impedance mismatched with the people around me.

If a gram scale and a grinder that has one knob and one button is too much to deal with then I guess you do need K-cups after all. 300g of water over 17g of freshly ground beans will pretty much always beat the K-cup on quality, is cheaper
