In Boston the college radio stations are a lovely and weird respite from the Cumulus and Iheart scourge. Weirdly enough Canada seems to have better and less grating radio, anecdotal from my experience in BC.

That was the policy intention in the 70s. Prop 13 plus zoning most land area for SFH ensured that boomer property owners could get rich. Back then it wasn't clear just how rich, though.

If you want more points downrange, you design your scanner to work on a smaller FOV. Some things change - you need an optical design that scans a small area in front of it somehow (faceted mirrors are popular), and at some point you need a

If this means there are three major mobile OS players rather than two, I'm happy. Google keeps shoehorning crap and dark patterns (break unrelated functionality if you don't have location turned on, break functionality unnecessari

The result here seems a bit like what I imagine "Audio Description" for visual media would read like as a transcript. Maybe it would work better if the model was trained on novels, rather than a more general corpus?

They added in the Oct7 attacks?! Pretty abhorrent. That being said, I'm not sure what counter-terror objective blocking this game actually has.

Universal Paperclips was my favorite piece of art I interacted with this year (so far). It really affected how I think about what I'm doing, and what humanity is doing as a whole.

The polar plot at the end would be useful if there were plots for other cars and trucks to compare to. I'm assuming that it's a simulation?

It's cooler than that these days - under the paint are antennas plated? printed? onto the skin panels that are tuned to absorb specific frequencies of interest.

I reckon it's probably not that bad, there are big surfaces that are almost normal to what would be incoming radio energy. Stealth shapes tend to reflect energy in a completely different direction from the source.

IIRC the data coming out of the Conti radars was preprocessed to give bearing, distance, and size of an object in the FOV of the unit. I don't know if I ever saw the true raw data out of one of them, but I'm curious what it looks

Waymo have in house radar, I think in the 70GHz gap in the absorption spectrum. They're pretty obvious as sort of paperback book sized planes, mounted near other sensors IIRC. The old Velodyne units were actually susceptible to damage

I think Ubiquiti have that built into their AP/network management software. You can define a floorplan and drop your APs into it to understand dead zones etc, and you have granular data on which clients are connected to which APs

Something not found in the background. If you can cleanly segment the image purely on color, that makes the object tracking very very easy if you're tracking a single object.
