The point of the article isn't just the voltage. It's that they created a photocathode which converts laser pulses into electron bunches with a particular set of qualities(polarity, density). It's also how they diverged fro

Anything above 0Hz radiates. EMF is short for 'electromagnetic field' which even DC produces, so I guess I could have worded it better. In any case, I would want to detect the emissions from the CPU, memory bus and SD card traffi

What I really want is something that detects any EMF above 60Hz. When I was a kid I used to hook a coil of wire and a diode to a piezo earphone. I then listened to the emissions of various devices in my house. My Amiga 500 was particularly

My mucus is about as fault tolerant as it ever has been. Sometimes it gets really thick if the weather is dry or I'm sick, but otherwise I haven't noticed any difference. I find that drinking water helps.

I've long wondered if there's a possible application for something like this using 3d printing and electrets. Basically you can freeze an electric field inside of an insulator if you apply it as the material solidifies. I think

I'd guess that a 555 is also tougher than a microcontroller. I'm putting together an HV supply and thought about using a microcontroller but opted for a 555-based oscillator. Either one won't survive HV but I think the 555 w

I don't know, but it seems like, as a language grows, the type of people working on improvements changes. In the beginning, the contributions come from people trying to solve application problems. In the end, the committees and contr
