The Stream is modeled after The Inbox, which, despite long-standing calls to kill email, is a component of the most powerful and effective communication tool The Internet has given rise to. The underlying philosophical tenants of this article are spot on. And all in all, it's an excellent story. There seems to be, on HN especially, a lament for the web of yore. I imagine this has more to do with us first (and 2nd?) generation web builders getting old. Anyone who spends time with geezers knows it's par for the course to lament the way things have changed, to long for the good old days. I'd encourage people to trust in the next-generation. Just as they would have wished their parents (and the establishment) to trust in them when they were just starting out in the world.
