Windows 10 will save Microsoft from itself after the Windows 8 disaster
- mark_l_watson 11y agoI think that Windows 10 is good enough to convince a lot of people to spend much less money on a Windows laptop rather than a Mac. I have wondered for years if something would happen to force Apple to reduce prices. Their gear really is expensive. Perhaps Windows 10 will put some pressure on Apple as far as laptops and desktops go.
- na85 11y ago>It also has ambitious plans to turn Windows 10 into a funnel that will guide users towards paying Microsoft for revenue-driving subscription services and microtransactions. This right here is why I won't be upgrading past windows 7. I'll keep 7 on my systems until it goes EOL and stops getting security updates, and then I'll either get a Mac or migrate fully to Linux. Ads on the start menu and the lock screen? There's just no fucking way I'm ever giving Microsoft another dime.
