The concept of agent capabilities composition reminds me of entity-component-system paradigm, except that there's no data encapsulation in ECS. Perhaps agent-oriented design could be successfully applied to game programming?
- qbrass 11y agoAgents interact with their environment while actors interact with other actors. If one actor isn't aware of another actor, it can't send a message to them. An agent can broadcast a message through the environment, and any other agents who notice can respond. You could turn agents into actors by limiting what they respond to, and you can turn actors into agents, by having an environment actor and agent actors.
