I probably don't understand how business works, but with total funding more than 5Bln$ why do investors invest in such a big company? Doesn't Uber have money to cover its expenses or this is just kind of trading business rather than investing?

And with interest rates under zero right now ... they have to put their money somewhere. I have expressed my disdain for Uber, but they at least have revenue and business model.
