Also - hitting closer to home for me is that a good chunk of Boston is on top of man made land. The entire "Back Bay" area (which is what most people consider downtown Boston) was originally underwater.
- apaprocki 11y agoA large portion of lower Manhattan is also landfill -- the same portion that recently flooded during Hurricane Sandy.
- jameshart 11y agoNeither of which allow the US to make 200 mile exclusive economic zone claims under the UN convention on the law of the sea that they otherwise wouldn't be able to make, so they're hardly relevant to the China case.
