Attempting to translate the statement: "The attorney general Harald Range intends to rest his investigation for the time being. Considering the importance of the freedom of press he is refraining from executive measures allowed by the code of criminal procedure." I wouldn't call that a "stop of investigations". It's more like an attempt at backpedalling without completely loosing his face :)
