This is sickening that someone approved this, knowing that buyers would choose the other trims based on safety ratings. In my opinion, someone should go to jail for this. This is another reason why Tesla is so much better. They designed the car to be safe, period. They don't care to cheat on crash tests, because by designing the car to be as safe as possible, they will automatically do well in crash tests.

There's a bit of a difference here. Ford has to deal with shareholders who don't have the same mindset as say, Tesla shareholders. Have a bad quarter? The stock will get punished. Tesla stockholders (at least the ones I've talked to at the annual meeting) (leaving aside speculators and institutional investors) are in it for the long haul (myself included). Elon knows this.
