I never heard of that!
Here is the secondary problem - GitHub sides with these people called Social Justice Warriors. Basically, if you make a bad joke on Twitter, or say something that gaming journalists are shills - they harass your employers and ruin your life.
GitHub supports and protects these people. They will censor anyone with an opinion that doesn't speak glowingly of their politics.
Make a joke about feminists? Your repo gets shuts down.
A user makes a joke about cross-dressing on twitter? SJW's find him on twitter, look up his repository and harass his issues until he concedes to merging a code of conduct. The people didn't even use his software.
This is like persecution. I don't care what people do behind close doors - but I don't like the idea of being guilt-tripped to show enthusiasm about any political idea. That's not professional or what open source is about.
- nindalf 11y agoOne correction there. The SJWs found the person on Twitter, looked up the project he contributed to and demanded that he be removed as a contributor
- anon3_ 11y agoWhat in that is different, I didn't know they wanted to remove him. You can't really do that. And if you did as an outsider you'd be laughed out. By the way, the project was Opal, I can't find the issue in question to see. Do you have it?
