Radical designs are in manufacturing (ie, massive use of composites) rather than aerodynamics. And that "basic design" has had a lot of efficiencies made to it in the last 50 years. I'd be highly surprised if there were any potential design changes left that could make a visible difference. (Ignoring things like lifting bodies that would drastically change the passenger experience.)
