Sure - It's obvious. Patenting anything like that is just ridiculous. It's like patenting the idea of having a pitched roof on top of a house. It's a shame some do see things like this as innovative unique ideas that need protecting. FWIW I don't think we help matters by constantly reinventing the same ideas with new buzzwords. "Real time web"? really.
