Newfound Bacteria Expands Tree of Life
- ChuckMcM 11y agoYou really have to appreciate bacteria that live on other bacteria :-). I come back to "Cells are just organic nannites." We really are just a collection of very small organisms working together to reproduce.

- jessriedel 11y agoFirst they say > A new technique for finding and characterizing microbes has boosted the number of known bacteria by almost 50 percent... then they say > ...their work expanded the number of known types — or phyla — of bacteria by nearly 50 percent... This is a huge difference, since phylum is one of the highest levels of biological taxonomy. I wish they could avoid glaring errors detectable by laymen. Quanta magazine is usually a lot better than this.
