I'm fairly spoiled by Perl's Devel::NYTProf. Example profiler output: http://moritz.faui2k3.org/tmp/otrs-tt/ http://moritz.faui2k3.org/tmp/otrs-tt/
It makes it pretty obvious where time is spent, and every piece in the flame graph (and in the list of routines below) is a link to the source code, with each line annotated by number of calls and time spent.
