The OP seems to argue that autonomous weapons would be dangerous heavily because they are intelligent in the sense of AI. IMHO, the weapons would be still more dangerous because they were not very intelligent and, instead, in essentially any human sense, quite stupid. They'd be like flying a quadcopter carrying an automatic pistol with a hair trigger that could fire essentially when, where, and at what no one could tell.
