Yes this is very much a "because I want to" answer, but I think looking for reasons to work from home is the wrong way to think of this issue. We shouldn't have to and it should be the default, because I (and I'm sure many others) can't think of a single reason I need to be in the office to get my job done and still be in contact. I think the 8-12 hour workday is societal conditioning that's going to take a very long time to break.
