Yes and? To me that's a 'knowledge premium'. Garages expect men to be more knowledgeable about car repair and less likely to be intimidated about going for another quote. Likewise if I go to the market to buy veggies, a less than honorable seller might push inferior product to me as a man than a woman who he expects to be more discerning.
