Whenever there is a unbalance in the relationship, the party with less power will turn a blind eye to what the party with more power does. I have know of both males and females who prefer not to ask what their partner does when they go out, not to put at stake the relationship that sustains them economically. The shame society imposes upon them and the lack of formal recourse only makes it worse. Hopefully we can fix this in the coming years.
