This is the same attitude I take. I have worked in many industries, and have participated in a few startups, but the bottom line is I don't put up with crap. I spent too much time in the Corps where I was basically a slave to ever function like that again (the civilian equivalent would be a salary job that underpays but expects you to work 60-80 hours a week without OT because you are "exempt"). Sometimes I felt bad for leaving, because I know whoever would be replacing me couldn't do as good a job, but it's just business (the business of my life). One of the things that is good about this is that I have gotten a few vacations in between jobs I wouldn't have otherwise, not to mention the vast array of experiences that have really helped me have a bigger picture understanding of sysadmin'ing.
