So we should watch a video about "how to go from zero users to many users" from someone who did it by selling services at a loss and then going out of business?

- mixmastamyk 11y agoFailure is the path to success, no?
- joslin01 11y agoYes, but that doesn't mean you should exactly seek out the advice of those who haven't conquered the failures and reached the end of the road of "success". Everyone has their own wisdom to offer, but I would agree with the parent, there's more notable persons to learn from and I personally feel most comfortable with someone who has BOTH failed & succeeded.
- mixmastamyk 11y agoSorry, you can learn from other's failures just like you can their successes... and maybe their big success comes in a few years.
- joslin01 11y agoOf course! That's why I explicitly said everyone has their wisdom to share. Nevertheless, we all must pan our knowledge in some form or another.
- mixmastamyk 11y agoLooks like theres more to this story: http://recode.net/2015/07/17/google-hires-homejoys-technical-team-to-build-its-own-home-services-marketplace/ http://recode.net/2015/07/17/google-hires-homejoys-technical... Perhaps that success is coming sooner than even I had anticipated.
- joslin01 11y agoI personally reject that definition of success. Acquihires happen all the time.
