"Don't make [public announcements] about yourself" is not the same as "Don't care about yourself or your feelings". The audience is relevant.
- mynameisvlad 11y agoThe advice was never "Don't make public announcements about yourself" it was "When you're telling the employees they're being laid off, don't talk about yourself". There is a very clear difference there. None of the advice talked about what to do or not do during public announcements.
