- ams6110 11y agoExternalities can be negative or positive. I often see commenters bring up the negative externalities of coal but what about the positives: abundant, cheap, reliable electrical supply would have to be one. Employment in mining, processing, and transport of coal is another. A market for trains, trucks, mining equipment and supplies, etc. is another.
