Ephedrine is also a great natural stimulant, still consumed traditionally in China, Central and South Asia. While I agree that caffeine is less potent / enjoyable than ephedrine, it is far safer. I would certainly not advocate for widespread consumption of ephedrine, as overdose is far easier and more dangerous, especially if mixed with caffeine.
