I just visit hacker news every few hours. If it makes it to the frontpage, then it is worth reading (if it interests me of course). I tried subscribing to blogs and newsletter and I never read them - I just end up with another inbox that I can't empty. Also http://www.hackernewsletter.com/ http://www.hackernewsletter.com/ is awesome - I get a weekly email with the "best of HN" in case I missed them...
