Point of emitting. Point of extraction/import is both flexible, and hydro (and plain) carbons have multiple usages.
- ZeroGravitas 11y agoThough extraction also emits a lot of GHGs via flaring and so on, which should be costed properly. Apparently the biggest solar power installation in the world is used to generate steam which is then used to increase the efficiency of oil extraction. In previous eras the most obvious source of energy for that purpose would be the oil you are extracting.
