Calling all bloggers and field experts
If there were a service that allowed you to hold live on-line conversations at pre-determined times (like office hours) with your fans, would you use it?
We would also offer tools you could use to create content from conversations, engage your audience better, showcase yourself as an expert on a specific topic etc.
Think car talk on radio, compared to the several car forums that have probably higher quality car-related discussions.
- Nadya 11y agoNot to shoot down your idea, but I think many people schedule a livestream through Google Hangouts/YouTube to do just this. They can schedule for a pre-determined time that sends an alert to their subscribers when the stream will be going live - then they can interact with their viewers through the YouTube chat or call people through Google Hangouts to engage 1 on 1 with viewers in a moderated manner. To have it be your focus and draw some attention to it would likely still get people to use it. I'm sure there is an audience for something like this given the number of people who do this via YT/Google.
- wannabeit 11y agoThat makes sense. If we aggregate all such events, my thought is if there is a specific question in mind you can seek out answers from one of the experts holding office hours on-line at that time. A blog alternate for say doctors, lawyers, mechanics, chefs, bloggers etc?
- j2kun 11y agoI'd be willing to try it, but I don't think I'd want to use it more than once a month. Having weekly blog office hours sounds as tedious as actually having office hours for a course you teach.
- wannabeit 11y agoI get that. Would you consider this as a way to co-create content by live-blogging and have your fans contribute to the post thus?
- j2kun 11y agoMy posts are usually highly technical, and I wouldn't expect my readers to be able to "create content" in any capacity more than asking questions or saying "I don't understand that."
