- smoyer 11y agoUDP and TCP include echo ports (port 7 just like ICMP) and many tools that can run in non-privileged mode actually use the UDP echo instead of ICMP.
- jimktrains2 11y agoIt's very common to "ping" a service by sending a valid request and seeing if you get a valid, expected, non-error response.
