It's interesting to check it against my site's jobs-per-location data: http://techjobs.me/stats/city_stats http://techjobs.me/stats/city_stats At a glance, there doesn't seem to be that much of a correlation in the respective sites' data sets, but that's probably partially explained by the fact that we filter out all recruiters and certain large companies, outsourcers, and consultants (which gives the startups a heavier weight in influencing the rankings).
