One mans freedom fighter or activist is another mans terrorist. Besides, it is human nature to be morally flexible. Many people don't really register atrocities of any scale as long as they don't affect their daily lives. That's not to say this isn't terrible or shameful behaviour. It's just common terrible, shameful behaviour.
