Humanities to be outlawed at public universities in Japan
- obstinate 11y agoCould we have a less transparently biased source?
- marak830 11y agoHoly crap your not wrong! Was anyone ever thinking that was a nice level piece? I honestly thought it was a joke at first.
- obstinate 11y agoYeah, I didn't say it casually. I'm all for a little polemic now and then but this is just foolish.
- zeitg3ist 11y agoI'm sorry; I have this site in my feeds and I thought the article was worth sharing even though it's clearly biased. I found this editorial which is a little lighter in tones, but shares the same view: http://www.japantimes.co.jp/opinion/2015/06/30/editorials/abes-ill-conceived-university-policy/ http://www.japantimes.co.jp/opinion/2015/06/30/editorials/ab...
- cjsthompson 11y agoWeren't those who invented the humanities (the romans) (ur)fascists too? Because that Mussolini guy was greatly inspired by them to implement his regime if my memory serves me right. Seriously, in the age of space exploration, roman-inspired "classical education" for the ruling class (humanities) should have been flushed down the drain long ago.
