It probably has more to do with Michigan spending the least on roads out of all 50 states. Michigan has been hit hard, with Detroit as a symbol of that malaise.

It probably has more to do with Michigan spending the least on roads out of all 50 states. Michigan has been hit hard, with Detroit as a symbol of that malaise. If you don't have the budget to spare on upkeep, then there will always been something that needs to be repaired.
- newman314 11y agoI don't know how long you think this malaise has been going on but the roads were already crap 20+ years ago. PS. I find it ironic that Michigan was voted best state to live in.
