I would also say that 'shrill hipsterism' is a nebulous complaint.

- tptacek 11y agoSorry, I assume everyone works from the same definition of "hipsterism" as me, but that's obviously silly. Think of it as encapsulating: "I don't really like this artist. Lots of normal people like them, now. But they like them for the wrong reasons." The "nobody goes there anymore it's too crowded" trope, with an added sprinkling of "and did you know he supported Republicans?" (Yeah, thinking maybe the book about the first McCain campaign might have been a tip-off for you there.)
