I don't think this is a real common occurrence or something you should be worried about (but I am also male). And like ellisv said, in the few times it does would you really want to work at that type of place? My 2 cents, be yourself and don't hide anything. If you really feel it is hurting you though, then try using your first initial. But either way, neither would stop you from getting an interview with any company I have been apart of if you had the qualifications, and I think that's true at most any reputable company.
