OP is complaining about companies gathering data to better target you with relevant ads and in the same breath is complaining that his ads aren't targeted enough. You can't have it both ways. I would say that a good portion of the ads I see are surprisingly relevant, but I might be biased because as a marketer, the people targeting me are the best marketers out there.
