This is a question I'd be interested in having answered as well. I run a small educational website that has a comparative niche advantage and you're summary of how you thought web startups worked sounds very familiar. So far no expensive car. :)
- MicahWedemeyer 17y agoI think it's a very common misconception, but we're all so embarrassed about thinking that way that we don't admit it. I also had similar misconceptions about VC funding. I used to think VCs would just appear at my doorstep checkbook in hand, ready to invest in my great idea. Still waiting on that one as well...
