Well, honestly, that's just what I thought about C/C++ in comparison to some 'newer' programming languages like Go, Rust (and also Swift, maybe? I don't know enough about Swift yet). Personally, I would only use Swift if there was an easy way to write cross-platform (mobile) software with it. It's as simple as that.
