Flash will get a second life with WebAssembly.
- TazeTSchnitzel 11y agoGiven ActionScript is a superset of ECMAScript, it would make more sense to compile it to JS.
- icefox 11y agoHow so?
- pjc50 11y agoIf it lives on in an unbreakable, throttleable sandbox, that's not a disaster. It was the leaky native code that was the problem.
- aikah 11y agoMy point exactly,Flash(the IDE) isn't a bad thing if it allows artists to create interactive experiences or games on the web, desktop or mobile. The issue is obviously the Flash player and the browser plugin architecture. With WebAssembly you get the "binary blob" executed without a plugin.
