Right? I could rent a room and buy the things I wanted and had money to spare. I wasn't even making that much money. Why would I work many long days to no personal benefit? Except maybe to save for my pension and/or buy luxury items and toys I don't need. Only if I had a significant other and offspring would it make sense to make more money.
