Am I the only one thinking that:

is incredibly important.
- callum85 11y agoI think you're right. Even just writing a readme that says "you can use this software for X" is effectively a claim that it's fit for a given purpose, which I guess might open you up to damages claims. But I agree with trying to get rid of cruft from OS licences. I think the ISC one seems like the best balance.
- clinta 11y agoDoes anyone know if the EU requirements for mandatory warranties on products affect free software and the ability to distribute them without warranty?
- dfox 11y agoIANAL, but it probably does not as it only covers B2C sales.
- nikanj 11y agoEU doesn't do punitice damages, you might just be entitled to get some or all of your money back.
- Nullabillity 11y agoWell, if you find it to be defective then you can get a free replacement. It's even self-service!
