Humans will be extinct in 100 years says eminent scientist (2010)
- m0llusk 11y agoOddly enough, this may be completely accurate while at the same time being an irrelevant and narrow view of the world based on a view of humanity as essentially static. Not only does widespread DNA testing show that evolution continues at a high pace, but modern humans are quite different from the creatures of the same name only a few decades earlier. Modern people are hooked to networked personal media devices while zooming around at high speed in vehicles of metal and exotic composites. Electrification of everything that uses power and increasing share of sustainable generation sources is changing energy use fundamentally while enclosed farms are proving to be orders of magnitude more productive than existing high productivity farms. Whatever has descended from humans in the next 100 years will live in ways very much unlike us, thus being essentially an entirely new kind of being.
