I don't want to tell people how to eat. I'd prefer to let it shake out like smoking tobacco. Over a few generations many wised up and there will be many less smoking related deaths in the future.
But everyone dies of something and who am I to tell you how to live while you're still here?
- moron4hire 11y agoNo, I'm not saying I support legislation for this stuff. The problem is that, now that we've mandated healthcare for everyone, it's really only a small jump to mandating healthier lifestyles for everyone. It's even rational: preventive care is cheaper and more effective than treatment. But that's not what they're going to focus on, and it's not really going to work out that way.
- buckbova 11y agoI have a better solution. Anyone with a family history of certain ailments or genetically predisposed should be sterilized. Right at birth. If you want to cut costs. And now that these citizens won't need to take care of any children they can contribute more to the state by way of taxes.
- moron4hire 11y agouuuh, ok crazy guy.
- tomjen3 11y agoHe simply applied the logic of your proposition to its extreme, he does not actually hold that position himself.
- moron4hire 11y agoIt's not my proposition, it's my prediction of how these things are going. I'm not condoning it, and I don't think I deserve snarky replies regardless.
