I have a Samsung SSD 850 PRO 512GB in my Windows PC. And I have TRIM enabled in Windows:
> fsutil.exe behaviour query DisableDeleteNotify
DisableDeleteNotify = 0
Should I be worried?
- ploxiln 11y agoReleased versions of Windows do not use queued trim. (That's why serious bugs like this can happen ;)
- bad_user 11y agoThe problem exposed in the article is about un-queued trim.
- malbs 11y agoPretty sure this is an interaction issue with Samsung drives, trim support, and the Linux kernel, so no, you don't need to be worried.
- feelix 11y agoThis issue is related to TRIM in the context of command queuing, not the relatively ancient straightforward TRIM which Windows supports.
- sengork 11y agoInstall the Samsung Magician Toolbox for best results on Windows platforms: www.samsung.com/samsungssd/
- eveningcoffee 11y agoWhen you do this, read what they claim in ToS.
