- MichaelCrawford 11y agoSorry I should have been more clear. The request for a desalinator was encrypted but in with the most insecure crypto used by the navy at the time. The japanese intercepted it then reported it back to japan using crypto that we had already cracked. My use of the term "spy" was intended purely for rhetorical effect.
