- grubles 11y agoYep. No one cares...[0] [0]http://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/nasdaq-launches-enterprisewide-blockchain-technology-initiative-20150511-00485 http://www.nasdaq.com/press-release/nasdaq-launches-enterpri...
- bduerst 11y agoAll bitcoins are a blockchain, not all blockchains are bitcoins. That article doesn't even mention bitcoin once.
- grubles 11y agoMaybe you should google colored coins then: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Colored_Coins https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Colored_Coins "Colored coins allow you to store assets on the Bitcoin blockchain."
- bduerst 11y agoWhat does that have to do with the article or VCs??
- brighton36 11y agoNASDAQ will be settling securities on Bitcoin, using the colored coin meta-protocol. The reason NASDAQ doesn't mention Bitcoin specifically is because it's a divisive word. This is also why many institutions say 'the blockchain' instead of Bitcoin.
- bduerst 11y agoBut not all of Blockchain is Bitcoin, which was the point about VC money not going into Bitcoin and interest waning in Bitcoin.
- brighton36 11y agoThe Blockchain is made of Bitcoin. The rebranding of Bitcoin to the word "Blockchain" was a marketing decision. There is no difference.
- bduerst 11y agoThe blockchain is everything including hard forks. Bitcoin is whatever fork the bitcoin miner's have a consensus on. These are very different things. You are wrong again.
- pantalaimon 11y agoWhat is the rest using for DarkNet shopping?
- kolev 11y agoWell, of course, the illicit usage, too, but after more and more pedophiles and marketplaces get busted, that usage will evaporate as well.
- brighton36 11y agoJust like that usage evaporated IRL?
