I find the statements far too vague to vote on. When I vote on conferences should (not) am I voting on what I think conferences ought to be allowed to do, what I expect them to do (lest they be considered substandard), or what they ought to be required to do? (I would also note that there are many kinds of conferences. It seems that plenty of posters here feel they know exactly what category you are referring to. But I, for one, do not.)
